The Local Hydrologic Status Report (formerly Drought Monitor) has been updated on January 19, 2025.
The precipitation factor has reverted from NORMAL to WATCH status. As measured at Palisades High School, only 0.12 inches of precipitation fell thus far in January (as of this update). The recent snowfall (approximately 3 inches) will help but only adds about 0.2 inches of rainfall equivalent.
NOTE: The USGS groundwater status, using the monitoring well in Warminster, still has Bucks County in EMERGENCY status: https://rconnect.usgs.gov/PA_drought_map/
The streamflow factor determined by USGS data for Tohickon Creek remains NORMAL.
The local groundwater factor remains in a WATCH status as local groundwater levels are not yet available to support a designation change. Groundwater levels measured Groundwater levels measured by USGS at wells at Warminster and Nockamixon State Park, however, began to increase in December, albeit slowly.
